The realization of the underground parking lot beneath the construction plane in Piazza Barcellona implies the requalification of the existing urban space with the objective of creating a new, equipped market area that may also be enjoyed by the citizens when the market is not working. The square will be wholly levelled to via Pinelli in order to exploit the natural height difference of the delimiting streets. Thus, the first parking level shall be partly below ground level and shall not need slip roads as access will be possible along via Principessa Clotilde. The square shall be equpiied so as to be able to host a market but the central area shall be left as empty as possible in order to host different kinds of events.
